Q: Does acupuncture work?

A: Absolutely. Acupuncture is extremely powerful. I have yet to see a medicine which works more effectively…for any given condition.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: No. Acupuncture is essentially painless. This is not to say this it is without sensation. When the needle connects with the body’s electrical current, there can be a variety of sensations that are hard to describe in words. We call this the ‘qi’ sensation. On some points, this may mean a little warmth or small vibration. On others, it may be more of a dull ache or heavy feeling. Others yet, may feel a little ‘electrical’. In any case, if sensation does occur, it is often fleeting. If any point ever feels painful or uncomfortable to you, I will make adjustments or remove it completely.

Most clients are surprised to find that they get very relaxed when the points are in. It is not uncommon for people to fall asleep.
